The only way to get the life you dream of is action

Everyone wants success, whether they admit it or not. I have yet to come across a single person who is living a fulfilled life by choosing to settle.

Life’s too short to live only for the weekends and holidays. To only enjoy some of your life and be just okay with the rest; that’s definitely not living your best life.

The problem is that it’s easier to dream about, talk about, or even bluff success than it is to actually achieve it. But real success is created by your actions, not your words. The only way to get the life you dream of is action.

So, ignore the cynics, the people who have given up on their own dreams. Instead, take massive and determined action to achieve your goals and don’t slow down for anyone and anything.

The view is worth the climb.

What is success?

In my view, success is freedom.

Freedom defined as having the ability to choose life on your own terms.

Not just at the weekends or whilst on holiday, but every single day.

The opposite of success is settling. Settling is when you give up on your dreams.

You decide they are unrealistic or unachievable and so you make do and try to become happy with what you have.

Settling can creep up on you and before you realise it, you’ve lowered your expectations and accepted the hand you’ve been dealt.

Settling may lead to regret. Happiness is found in striving for audacious goals with like minded people, not in settling.

Don’t give up on your dreams. Never accept mediocrity.

It’s never too late in life to up your expectations. It’s always possible and it’s definitely worth it.

There’s no view, like the view from the top when you achieve your goals.

Setting Personal Goals to Achieve Success

You will not become successful in your life by setting small, easily achieved, everyday goals.

Neither will you achieve success by dreaming, talking about or bluffing it. Too many people do that and it doesn’t work.

Where you place your focus in life has enormous implications on your time. Don’t climb to the summit to find out you’re on a molehill.

Set big, bold, life changing goals then focus all of your energy and efforts on achieving them.

Think big, really big and expect more from yourself and people around you and you will achieve the success you’re looking for.

Eventually, everyone who settles for mediocrity in their life regrets it

Even though everyone may have a different definition of success, the reality is that innately we all want to be more, have more and do more with our lives.

Success can be big or small, but all success starts with setting a goal.

People don’t fail because they are not aware of what they should do to achieve their goal.

People fail because they don’t take action.

Procrastination and fear turn motivation to inertia, productivity to despondency, and we end up settling.

Avoid settling by setting goals that truly inspire you.

Set goals so big and life changing that they excite you and those around you.

Find others who believe, who want what you want and then it’s simple: take action.

Avoiding Naysayers

I have yet to come across a single person who is living a fulfilled life by choosing to settle.

I am not going to convince people to aim big, even though that is the philosophy that guides my life and I talk a lot about it.

But, I will say this — be careful who you listen to. Be cautious about listening to people who don’t want what you want.

They will try and sell you into the idea of playing small. Why? So they don’t feel bad about their decision to settle.

I encourage you to maximise your potential, to join others who think like you and then go and set goals that make other people uncomfortable.

Average is Easy to Find

Average is easy to find. Success is hard.

Average doesn’t care about your qualifications, race, religion or socio-economic background. But neither does Success.

Average prefers to be surrounded by people who settle. Success prefers to be surrounded by ambitious people.

You don’t have to work very hard for Average. You will for Success.

You won’t have to take any risks for Average. You will for Success.

Average doesn’t need money to achieve. Neither does Success.

Average is not exhilarating, passionate or demanding. Success is all of those.

Average will give with an average life.

Success will give you an amazing life.

You’ll have to work hard for success.

Success and Happiness

Don’t Confuse success with happiness.

Success is achieving what you set out to accomplish. Nothing more, nothing less.

We each have different goals and aspirations in our lives. It is always striving for the goal in which happiness is found, not the goal itself.

If you wait till you’ve succeed to be happy, you will be disappointed.

How you personally define success and how you personally define happiness is entirely up to you.

But recognise the difference.

First up, best dressed.

The Law of Action

I don’t believe in the law of attraction. The power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and materialise them into reality.

I believe in the power of action.

A lot of people spend too much time thinking, reading, planning and talking.

Success is about action.

You have to get busy with high levels of activity in the right direction. Don’t think about time in days and weeks but in surges of activity with specific goals to achieve.

Get your heart in it, your shoulder behind it and move heaven and earth until your mission is achieved.

This isn’t about the law of attraction, it’s about the law of action.

Success. It’s about action.
